Default Please help me spend my money wisely.

Fellow urS4 / urS6 Comrades:

The time has come to upgrade my urS6 Avant. The only modification I've made is 034 HO coil kit. I was planing to purchase the 034 chip tuning package but $1k could be better spent.

My performance goals are to keep up with a stock STi / Evo. I'm willing to spend $1k on my first acceleration enhancement.

chip / injectors / spring ($1k approx.)
turbo ($1k approx.)
exhaust manifold ($1k approx.)
F.M. Intercooler ($1k approx.)

BTW - My urS6 Avant is my daily driver

Chip Tuning Package AAN / Stage 1+ / $995.00

suitable for all AAN, stock turbo'ed S4/6's out there. Requires 3.0 BAR Map sensor and RS2/RS2 Replica injectors, included in the kit. Requires a 4.0 BAR fuel pressure regulator (stock on the AAN) and stock MAF in all applications.

Specifications:
-20psi overboost, 14psi to redline
-40whp increase over stock power

Chip Tuning Package includes:
- Quantity 5 RS2 Replica Injectors
- 3.0 BAR VMAP sensor
- 034EFI Stage 1+ I Chipset (fuel/timing/boost)
- 034EFI 1.9 BAR wastegate spring

Default No way you keep up with an STI.

Not with 267HP.

Default I agree.

Only thing is that it is 40whp so more than 267hp;-)

Still $995 for that is a joke.

Default With $1000 you wont be able to do that. $2000 wont do it either.

Audi is just yeeeeears behind STI/EVO.(Period)
These cars will outperform you in any form of race if you will do just a chip+exhaust.

Lets look at it this way.
-Sti weights anywhere ~3300lb with 305HP stock
-YOUR WAGON WEIGHTS ~3,900LB WITH 220HP STOCK

Now When you spend ~2000 on your S6 you will be where....
-Chip = ~1000
-Stromung = ~1400
------------------All total to MAX 270-80 @ crank

When you spend ~2000 on the Sti you will get:
-Cobb exhaust + downpipe
-full tune to 350HP @ crank

With at least 500lb less STI WILL EAT YOU

Now...I wont go into EVO because its just madness...

AMS from Chicago knows this subject toooo well to experiment with others. Just check out their results.

AMS MITSU PERFORMANCE STAGES :]

Default You will need a bigger turbo to keep up with a stock STI.

A stage 1 chipset will give you 270-280 HP, not enough to match a 300 HP STi which is also about 500 lbs lighter.

I played with one a few years ago with RS2 tune and it was pretty damn close.

Default I've updated my orginal post...

I'm well aware of modified Evo / STi are capable of producing.

My goal is to keep up with a stock Evo / STi.

I have no plans to upgrade the exhaust. Stock urS4 / urS6 breath well enough.

FYI - I own a 2006 Evo IX MR...

Default I missed the "wheel" part.

Call it 277, then.

Yeah, MRC will get you that for about $550 less.

BUT, the injectors mean that when you step up to RS2, you don't have to pop for bigger injectors.

And $110 for real RS2 injectors (per) is not too bad a deal. I don't know if $110 each for the replicas is a good deal or not. Probably reasonable.
