Default Rotors and Pads

Last week I ordered rotors and pads from Tirerack.I got the wrong ones.314mm x30mm and I believe pads from an A8.They are 8 pc. front pads, the "floating kind"...Would like to know, is there an inexpensive way to use these parts, and upgrade to better brakes. Thanx, Don

The rotors for ECS stage 2 are 314x30, but I thought they were Euro fitment only.

I was just trying to cash in on a good deal.25$ for rotors and 19$ for pads, but nothing fits.If I could find compatible calipers and carriers, maybe I could do something. Thanx,Don

You should be able to sell the rotors for more than that! Or else upgrade to a 996 system 3 big brake kit.

Edit: Same mix up happened when I bought some S6 rotors off of a guy on ebay for $70. I later sold on audifans for $150'ish.

What did tirerack charge to ship?

Default What part numbers/mfg numbers are on the rotor boxes?

I can't find any US-spec A8 apps that are 314X30- are you sure that's the size? What exactly did you order from TR?

On the pads, the only way to fit them to an UrS would be to source Euro UrS4/S6 or S6+ front struts that fit the HP2 brakes. There aren't many performance pads available for these calipers, and the calipers are very heavy, so the HP2's aren't exactly sought after for UrS applications. You should be able to sell them easily enough, though- some of the A8s and I believe the B5 S6 came with HP2 calipers stock.

OK. You will probably want to have tirerack take the pads back. But you should be able to eventually sell the rotors (for a profit).

Edit: If I can't sell my 996 BBK (in order to buy a 993tt stage 3 kit) I may buy a set of those.
