Default Strong Gasoline Odor

95 UrS6 had been sitting in the garage undriven for about a week. Wife drove it to work today. Tonight, when I walked into the garage I noticed a VERY strong gas odor. Not exhaust, but gasoline. Yes, the fuel line recall has been done. No drips noticed underneath the car. I have posted before about the gas smell inside the cabin when the A/C is being used. Not heat, but A/C. Checked under the hood, no leaks noticed. Any ideas? To be honest, the wife is looking at the car as a hazard and is close to the point of telling me to get rid of it!!! Please help! I've already started the RS2 slippery slope!

Check for a gas leak on the drivers side. As I recall the fuel rail has a braided hose and this connects to a hard fuel line. Wiggle this connection. In cold weather mine leaked. I just cut off the connector and braided hose and routed in about a foot of high pressure gas hose. About $6/foot as I recall.

Default did you see my post about the aluminum washers on the tank sender?

under the trunk carpet there should be an access hatch (at least there is on my '93 90). Under there you can get to the sending unit. The bolts holding the lines on have aluminum washers that corrode and leak. 86 cents at the dealer.

did you happen to notice if the smell came after
you filled the tank?? -- i've seen in the past either o-rings /washers [as kung fu 4.2 pointed out ] or there is a nipple w/a grommet on the sender cap itself ,that breaks open!!!

Default Not after filling tank

Odor wasn't after filling the tank. Wife drove it home and it had been sitting in garage for about 1-2 hours before we noticed it.
