Default Timing question

Is it possible for a timing belt to slip enough to stall out an AAN and then prevent it from starting up again? And if i were to push on the timing belt how much if any slack should there be?

Default Timing belt cannot "slip" unless teeth are missing. It might jump though.

But yes, it could jump enough to stall out and not restart.

Is there any way for me to manually/visualy check to see if the timing is off?

Default You will need to remove the t-belt cover and rotate the engine

so #1 piston is at TDC. There are timing marks on the crank pulley, cam pulley and flywheel.

you should be able to rotate the slack side 90 degrees with your thumb and forefinger

That's correct for a new belt. An older belt is bound to have more slop.

Default theoretically yes, but if the belt jumps enough to throw the timing off so it wont start...

I'd expect the valves to be junk. Does it turn over? Sound like its got compression? I mean, its simple to check the timing belt's condition, line up the marks. You'll know in just a couple minutes whether that was your problem or not.
