Default trans noise upon clutch release, have a listen on youtube...

so this car has had this noise since about 60k miles or earlier. i'm now at 148k and it's no worse. what is it, throw out bearing?

only happens on hard downshifts w/out matching revs. i always match revs so it's not a huge deal. but it also now happens in first upon letting the clutch out when it's cool out.

vid is of 3rd to 2nd gear downshift now rev matching.

Default loose the kazoo and you'll be fine...

Check your bypass valve. Sounds blown.

Are you sure that's not the BPV (with failed diaphram)?

Default i'm sure it's not. just changed to a new one.

it's a mechanical noise and there is some associated vibration.

Default I had a similar noise, though lower in pitch. More like a pigeon sound in my case.

I think it was the throw out bearing. The sound went away when I replaced the clutch and bearing. It might have been the clutch itself though.
