Default well, looks like i need a water pump

small leak turned into a big leak relatively fast......i took the tensioner off to peak under the timing cover, at first glance seemed dry but nope, under the water pump is wet...disconnected the power steering pump from it's bracket for a better view....looks like my power steering is gushing fluid too, great! I bought another one ten days ago but nothing yet,i hate these people...i paid for it 10 days ago and the guy said he'd ship it the next day...i emailed him today and it turns out he didn't shipped anything yet...only tomorow WTF!
Anyway, since i don't have a water pump yet i'm hoping to get the PS pump in about the same time with the water pump, this way i can nail both in one shot.
Thank God i have the 735 to drive to school, hopefully it will not snow because the tires are below the wear bars.
P.S. - i stripped one allen head bolt that holds the PS bracket to the block(the one in the back of the pump)and can't get it out, might have to cut it.....any sugestions?...i'm also thinking about replacing all those bolts with regular hex head bolts

watch it with the viscous clutch removal!!! the book says its a left hand thread but its actually a right hand thread!!! My bearing for the viscous clutch was finished and I went to replace it but audi stopped making the part and now they have a new system so you need to change the whole bracket and everything...

Default I thought you were supposed to be an Audi mechanic?

That's a freeze plug. They're all throughout the engine...

Default Trick for the allen....

take a 12pt socket slightly larger than the head of the bolt and tap it onto the bolt then unbolt, works like a charm.

Default i don't plan on touching the viscous clutch/fan....it's still on

i plan on using zip ties on the belt, loosen the tensioner, pop the water pump off and put the new one in, tighten the belt and take off the zip ties....

Default i know about the freeze plugs(core plugs by the corect name) in the block but haven't seen one on a

water pump.
As for the "Audi mechanic", i'm training to be one, learning new things everyday.

Today i did a timing belt job on a 3.0 A4 and a 1.8T A4, fixed the driver's seat in an C5 S6 but haven't seen any core plugs in water pumps so i learned something new today.
Thank you !
