Default What does a POS do?

I Would like to know what function the Power Stage Output, or Power Output Stage, performs.

Thanks!

Default It tells the sultry spanish coils that it's time for fuego and then the spark plugs scream

and the pistons dance to the sounds of the castanets.

Default Its basically a computer-controlled switch. There is always power to primary side of the...

coil but there is no ground for it and therefore no current flow until the ECU says so. The ECU sends a signal to the POS channel in question (one of the five, the correct firing order) and the POS lets the 12 V power flow through that primary coil to ground. The current flowing through the primary coil, "excites" the high voltage secondary coil, which has no choice but to spill its, ah, er, current to the nearest easy way out, which, by design is the spark plug.

This WILL be on the exam.
