I can answer partly, it is a dealer only item; the plastic thermostat cover.

Default That's gonna be dealer only.

But I think the metal cover from a 5k will work. I think Marc S is running one, but the fit is not perfect. Check the little hose (5/8inch?) carefully. That can leak onto the t-stat housing and send you running in the wrong direction.

Default I replaced that small hose last year and seem to be fine

There is another one 1/2 inch or smaller hose above this one and I see coolant on connections. What is that one?

Default That might be the turbo hose, a known failure point...

Does it go back to a nipple/banjo type fitting under the rear part of the intake manifold?

Default Yep

Yes, it's a longer one, something like 10 inches long and looks like generic hose.

One end goes to banjo bolt that connects to the head.

Is it common failure item? Where do I get this hose?

Default Yes, it has failed on me twice.

The original hose blew on me a couple years ago, and the shop I had the car towed to replaced it with generic fuel hose. That blew the next year -- it came out in about 10 pieces. So I would definitely not recommend generic hose. It gets too hot under there.

Right now I am using some super fancy Aeroquip hose. That is probably overkill, but if you know of a place that will sell you just a foot of it, it might not be a bad idea.

I don't recall the inner diameter though. You might find that in ETKA or maybe someone else knows. I can tell you that it is a really ****ty job to replace that hose on a hot engine...

Default Right, like it's easy to find this hose in ETKA...

I'm software developer, but it's just beyond me to navigate ETKA peace of "mind"..

Default Look in the cooling system section -- it's in there

There is a hard pipe that comes off the turbo center section and goes around the front of the engine. It transitions to this rubber one on the driver's side right near the timing belt cover. I remember seeing it in ETKA but I don't have the software installed here.
