I say you use a large soldering iron and fold the tab closer to the center. voila

Default That might work...

Hard to say without having one in front of me, but I think it may be tight still and not completely work. The tab on the original steering wheels is a part of the centering ring , and the diameter of the centering ring on both the original steering wheel and the 3-spoke wheel are the same...

Default it should work... I planned it all out before but then go sidetracked. I have a giant soldering iron

where the tip is big enough to just fold the tab over

Its not the size of your "soldering iron" that counts, but how you use it.
