Yay. HID's work.
It was the ballasts.
I bought those X5 ballasts from ebay (the red ones), and when they came, the bulb terminals were different from any I've seen - at least different than my Phillips ballasts and the two sets of bulbs I had.
After sending 5 emails and getting no response back, I said fvck it and cut the connectors, splicing them together with good butt connectors. They work fine, but it kinda sucks I had to do that - plus the leads are shorter too.
But hey, my HID's work.
