On of the things with my A8 that would interrupt the door unlocking. If I had the keys in my pocket, and I put my phone in the same pocket, and the phone went in a particular way, so that the keys were next to my body, the the signal got blocked by the phone.

With my Q8, the salesman is telling me that my car is not equipped with the touch handles thing whether it is for opening or closing. Similarly for the boot kick function. I do nto really car about the boot kick, but I do really care about normal door opening being that I have had it so long. I cannot still believe that the flagship Q car would not have this door unlocking and locking as standard.! On a call with them tomorrow

On other models, there are trims without the feature. You can look up the window sticker with the vin. from there you'll know if your car is a Premium, Premium Plus, or Prestige and you can look up which std. features your car should have. A quick way to tell if you do not have a prestige car is if the buttons on the lower center console are not silver. If they are not silver, your car is Premium or Premium Plus. Based on my shopping most cars are Premium Plus. If you have the fuzzy headliner, your car is Prestige w Luxury package.

I understand, but, I am UK based and we do not have those model names over here, premium etc. Mine is called an S-Line. There is also Black Edition.. The bestest model is called, Vorsprung. There is no difference between S-Line and Black apart from the looks.

I'm sorry but I don't understand why you can't just check it in the MMI. If, according to the owner's manual, which I posted in my post #4, you can enable / disable the "Convenience Key" then you have the Keyless Go function.
If there is no such option in your car's MMI, you simply do not have Keyless Go.

I do apologise, I thought I replied, Convence Key is not an option in that menu, nor could I find it in other menus. I really think my car was not equipped with it

I looked at the retrofits website, their site does not mention any Q8 retro so I must speak to them

They do Q8 as well. I know them for years, they are one of the best Audi retrofit specialists. You can buy it here https://www.kufatec.com/en/audi/q8/q...di-q8-4m-43090 and ask them for installation.

If i remember correctly - in the earlier days of the Q8 in UK you could choose a number of options including the Comfort Pack (along with Sound options, Flat Bottom Steering Wheel etc) which possibly had this feature.
