I really hope the GM of an Audi dealership in DFW wasn't pulling my chain when he stated the RS Q8 will be available for a 3Q2019 release. Based on the information available, that thing is going to be a beast! Can anyone else confirm the rumor?

Wouldn't the SQ8 come first? Is there any precedent for an RS model being released ahead of (or instead of) an S model?

I asked the same question. His response was Audi wants to compete with the X5M and GLC 63s of the world. Hence, skip the SQ8 straight to RS Q8. Again, not sure how accurate it is.

I have read several articles that Audi was considering skipping the SQ8 and going right to RSQ8 so it seems possible. I would be surprised if there was 3Q19 availability though - perhaps ordered in that time frame and arriving early 2020? Definitely can't wait to see (and hear) it! Perhaps at Geneva in March?

Just saw the agenda for the Geneva show and the Q8 RS is not included. Not a good sign though maybe they will surprise us!

Audi have no pure ICE cars at the show, EV or PHEV only. Wouldn't read too much into the RS Q8 not being there.

I called AoA and was told the focus is on the E Tron vehicles for performance vehicles in the future. I believe the S cars will morph after the E Tron vehicles are shaken out. Ana then the Rs cars will spring out of what’s learned from the 2 afore mentioned vehicles
