"Audi Driving Experience" program....

Page 9 of the Audi Magazine briefly describes a 1-2 day program to experience an RS4, S8, R8, and others, at Infineon Raceway in CA- I'm seriously thinking of doing this.

Has anyone done this program, or is signed up. Or have you heard any feedback from friends/others on this program?

I did the half-day program with the RS4 and the R8.

It was well worth my $600

Sounds like fun!

I would enjoy it and could whet my appetitite for both cars. I am probably leaning toward getting a low mileage RS4 over and R8 due to cost and my budget. I can afford an RS4 today while a new R8 would cost me a lot each month. Plus since I want to buy a new home that is more important to have both a new home and new car than just a new car. Also, the R8 is a showcar masterpiece like other exotics (Ferrari, Lambo, etc.) and really meant for weekends and not daily driver.

I disagree with the not a "daily driver" comment, to each their own.

The driving experience is well worth it. They take you through a number of exercises designed to make you a better driver as well as giving you the opportunity to try the whole Audi line-up.

yeah the v12 maybe but not the v8 R8.

Current R8 seems very much a daily driver car (assuming one's daily driving needs do not require a lot of storage or more than one passenger. =)

I've done 2 days at Infineon

If you're interested in buying an Audi like the TT, A4, A6, A8, Q7, S5, RS4 or the R8, I think it would benefit you greatly to have a chance to get behind the wheel of these cars. I've done both programs at Infineon, and the price is well worth it. Audi not only ran an organized event, but also had fantastic instructors who rate at the top of their field.

Did it back in December. So good I signed up for the 2-day R8

Went to Infineon in December with rather low expectations and left extremely suprised. So much so that I signed up for the two day R8 event.

In Dec., we had more R8 track time than I expected for $500. (Hell, track days cost $300 these days.) Lots of lead-follow sessions. The instructor in the lead car would progressively raise the bar as long as the four following cars kept up in a controllable manner.

Looking forward to the two-day R8 event in late Feb!!
