I purchased a beautiful, literally mint condition, 2009 R8 back in June with only 14k miles, and love the car. I had a dream of owning one for a long time. Recently, my brother purchased a 2009 S5 which I drove several times while he was visiting. I was really surprised to find that the S5 seats were significantly better than the ones in my R8. More supportive, and more comfortable. Is it possible to fit a pair of S5 seats in an R8?

If not, are there any "affordable" aftermarket seats that will work with all of the electronic seating controls, seat heating, etc? I wouldn't want to spend more than $3000.00 for the pair of seats. And does anyone know what removal of the old seats and installation of the new ones might run, in terms of cost?

No one? This has been a much discussed topic in other R8 forums. I just thought I might get more accurate information here.

I completely agree with this opinion. I cannot stand sitting in my R8 for more than half an hour at a time. It sounds great, makes a ruckus, the kids in the neighborhood love taking selfies in them, but the seats are incredibly uncomfortable.

If I could take my A8's seats and put them in the R8, I'd have a winner.
