I have to agree with you. The GTR is a great car for the money.
If I was ever buying a super car, such as a 911 turbo, etc, I would just choose an R8 or the GTR.
I've always been fond of the Skyline R34s though.

just dont get people comparing cars on just 0-60 numbers and price...
why would anyone buy a ferrari or lambo? Its because porsches and now the r8 stirs a very fine trigger of refinement and raw power that many cars cant copy no matter how much hp or electronic gizmos they put into a car. Nissan (and all Japanese car companies) want to imitate then beat the germans, but never can come up with their own signature, original ideas. This is why a 911 turbo was always seen following the GTR around the Ring.

True - a friend in Malibu would not tell me how much OVER he had to pay
but he did have to pay "market adjustment" in order to get his (pre-ordered) car. You know, us low-ballers complain but the truly rich car guys don't really care about an extra $50k. My friend is the leading surgeon in a big practice and makes $100k - A WEEK!

R8 is yesterday's big news, now it's the GT-R
It's a vast conspiracy by the auto manufacturers and the auto magazines to make sure I end up living in retirement in a cardboard box

The faster time was on cut racing slicks. Hardly street tires. The slower time was on street tires.
