Need pointers...lol
I'm an original '96 A4 owner, and am only 27, but was posting on this site way back when the 12v engine was the only one lol. I used Audiworld to help me fix up my horrid, lovable, beastly little A4 for a cross-country move from Baltimore, MD to Los Angeles after college.
I moved out wide-eyed to try to make it in the tv & film world. I had another audiworlder help me do the timing belt and water pump.. I hand-replaced 2 faulty wheel bearings..etc, and lo and behold, my car and I made it.
My first job in LA was as Production Manager of the hd TLC show "Rides." What a blast.
After that, I skipped around the reality-world, trying to land at a studio. I finally did that, beating out 640 others to work as a Writer's Assistant for Disney and then, later for the same boss, at 20th Century Fox............... that is up until the WGA Strike.
SO, these days, I'm sitting at home with no job, bummed. The interviews are coming somewhat slowly, and so I have a lot of time to work on my resume, and peruse the awesome R8 forum. I'm a little bit depressed, but I recently thought "Dammit, I want an R8 some day. But my career is going nowhere in Hollywood, and I can't figure out what to do next."
So I wanted to ask you guys, because I'll be darned if you guys aren't the hard workers or good & lucky-decision makers who'd be best to ask. I'm 27, have a bachelors, no debt, and a good resume. Any ideas what I can do to help myself get an R8 before I'm 45, since the industry I just invested myself in is off the tracks? Anyone else been in those shoes? I figure if I don't find something soon, I'll just bite into debt and go for an MBA to kill time during the recession we're in lol.
Thanks for any help anyone can provide who might relate to this situation.. or anyone else who's also striking at the moment, or out of action as a result.

better to not be able to buy one but do something you like than to slave away miserably to attain something you'll look miserable driving to work.
I tried finance after undergrad and was shut out, plus the hours were horrible.
I always liked real estate, made the leap and it has worked out very well.
God luck!
