Scott does know what he is talking about...
His work is the best independent, car-specific, oil analysis I have seen. The only catch is that the renewable RLI BioSyn is not an Audi-approved oil. While the BLI oil appears far superior to anything on Audi's list, for a hassle-free warranty, you need to use an oil on Audi's list. For engine longevity and decreased wear, the BLI oil is probably better.

It is common to burn 1-1.5 qts in the RS4 during break-in...
Since it is the same engine, I would anticipate similar oil consumption. Also, the oil level should be checked frequently and topped off to the middle of the low-high range on the dipstick as anything more tends to lead to increased consumption.
In the RS4, oil consumption levels off quickly. I encourage everyone to check their oil level frequently during break-in as the level is quite low when the light comes on.
