I'm in the Des Moines area as well, but have yet to see an R8 (or an RS4, for that matter). I have seen a couple S8's and one or two A5/S5's (not sure which, couldn't get close enough).

We'll keep our eyes open...my wife always shakes her head at my "Audi rubber-necking", but seeing an R8 in central Iowa would be a treat indeed.

plus i just picked up the Ibis White s5 a month ago from Lithia Motors (FKA Jordan motors)

Do you see another s5 in town (another color)?

I have a 2004 Mustang cobra with "much more than stock" horsepower, and this car gives me more goosebumps than the cobra. This S5 is sexy, and powerful. the sound is incredible, and the lines are beautiful.

I have NEVER bought a car to impress others--- I like them regardless of what others' think...but i have to tell you i have gotten more "thumbs up" and "head nods" in the 30 days i owned it than any other car i have owned.

Yes, it is a manual. and it shifts like butter- almost as good as my brothers Honda S2000 (no flames ---- i just think that is the best ****ing car i have ever driven....)

We have some events and a good Audi owner base. One of the members is even a tech at Lithia.
