Default Ditto about the photos. Unscrupulous and well as illegal. But people feel once it's on the web

then it's fair game.
If the dude had enough money to buy an R8 then he has enough to pay someone to photoshop out his plate.
He's weak.

Default Are you guys serious?

Okay,

My apologies for using a "few pics from here". Some are my own. I was just trying to post an ad for a car for sale. I have been polite, and apologetic when I could've just ignored these posts. It would've died after the third post. Don't call me weak. That is stupid. If I need to post again, mark my words I will use all of my own pics (big deal). If you know these pics, you know the guy also posted naked pics of his girl with them. She was beautiful, as is the car. If someone puts out naked pics of his girl for everyone to see, I don't think he would mind if pics of his car get spread around. I am not defrauding, or scamming. Just selling a car. Relax

Sold one already for my partner when he wanted to sell, made $30k, and made a great friend of the person I sold to. I am legit and rushed to put the ad on the net when I had a few minutes. Again, my apologies, but no reason to get hostile.

Default I wouldn't want someone taking my high quality photos and using them to sell their car.

I'd be pretty offended if someone took my work and used it for their own benefit, to market their car.

The only way I'd feel differently is if the person contacted me beforehand to ask permission, but I would not agree without payment. My photos are my own work, my own effort - to steal that (images are impliedly copyrighted by the photographer) work and use it for your own gain is pretty cheesy. Particularly when you have the car and the camera.

As to the VIN and sticker agreement, I'd be careful. I personally think if you signed the agreement, then you ought to honor that agreement.

While I hate walking into a dealer to see the price marked up above MSRP, there's always other dealers I can (and do) go to instead. Same goes for the R8. My buddy has bought two of them at MSRP. He sold the first one for a $40k profit (wasn't planning to, but got an offer he couldn't refuse), and promptly turned around and ordered a second one (identical).

Did the dealer get screwed? Nah. They wanted his business - he buys cars left and right, they want him as a customer.

But don't take other people's photos and call them your own. No excuse for that.

You're the reason why I keep my web photos limited to 800px max dimension.

Default Final apology, case closed on my end.

I am ending the auction early, and have sold it for $150k. Thanks for everyone's concerns about my listing. I hoped to be a contributing member of this forum and didn't mean to ruffle any feathers. My sincerest apologies about the pic issue. I swear I will only use my pics going forward. Best of luck to all of you R8 owners and enthusiasts.

Default THAT IS MY CAR! Not for sale

That is my car and my girl in that picture and I don't plan on selling either one anytime soon. Maybe you should have done a little research before you made that post. As for the j@ck@$$ that stole my pictures to sell his car. Get your own damn pictures!
