My dealer tells me my car has been sitting at the port in the States waiting for release. Does anyone know why Audi has been holding the cars for 2+ weeks? Is there a problem? I am getting very frustrated.
Thanks for the help.

On new vehicle launches such as the R8 and even the RS4 Audi will group the release so that a number of vehicles hit the dealers simultaniously. I suspect that is what is happening with the R8 port hold.
On the 2005.5 S4 Anniversary, AoA held the vehicles in port for a sticker that was part of the vehicles special features, and that hold was over three weeks.

JK....but, then again, a lot of people hate us ![Smile](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
we're all a lucky bunch. but, then again, i consider anyone who has an audi lucky to have such a great car. i think audis are the best, regardless of model.
at one time i was broke, didn't even have a car in college and even got egged walking with my then GF back from the movies (thank god they missed). i worked my *** off to get to where i am. and my R8 will represent my own achievements, in a shallow way perhaps, but it doesn't matter. i've never been a poseur. in dedication to all those poor guys who are where i used to be i'll drive it everyday. and when they wave, i'll always wave back.
c'mon february............

February will be here in no time. At least when you take delivery of it there won't be snow on the ground! I get to drive mine for a few months and then put it away for five. I agree with you about sharing it with people. My second day with the R8 will be spent showing it to the people I know will enjoy it most: the guys at the local car wash, the young kid at the gas station who can talk cars for hours, and the guy at the pizza place who's face just about split from smiling when he saw my W12 for the first time. Just wait until I let him drive it. LOL. I have never felt this excited about a car prior to delivery. The 911TT was close, but somehow this car is different. This one is special.
