Default You guys overestimate the Gallardo's pricing...

... many paid hefty premiums, and many dealers put cars into magazines and the DuPont Registry initially at inflated prices. But, realistically, the car was not that expensive at launch (well under $200k) and has not increased in price any more than the Euro/Dollar rate has increased.

Many have misstated or asked about the Gallardo's initial pricing, so I figured I might as well post some paperwork. I bought one of the first dozen Gallardos in the country, the first non-dealer-demo black Gallardo ordered for the U.S., and didn't pay over sticker. Here's how the price broke out.

I figure if you guys are going to do "well, starting from the Gallardo's introductory price and accounting for exchange rates since..." calculations, you might as well start with the right numbers (see below).

Default you know whats so great about that.

Default Most thinking similarly, but...

in his defense, he is very forward about not being 'price dependent.' Almost refreshingly honest.

I'll also step up....

I cannot 'afford' an R8. Or a Gallardo. Or a 911. Or a GT500. Or 95% of all new audis once DeNysschen and AoA have their way.

Somehow, that didn't make me feel better. 8-P

01 S4 avant; $39k new and "not expensive" relative to some 06 A3's now on US sales floors. Stupid. And not all EU:USD...

Default Should he buy you an R8 then? I don't understand why people try to make people who can afford stuff

badly about being able to, when they themselves wish they could.
