Hey-I just installed my Alpine 7893 head unit(see pic post) along with my JL sub and amp in my 2004 1.8T. The way it had to be set up, lacking speakers and other amps, left me to have the back speakers wired from the factory amp, having the stock sub unplugged, and the fronts, including the center channel, running off the deck. Somehow through the factory amplifier, I am left with an annoying whining from the rear speakers, even when the volume is turned all the way off. I am told that I need to buy new speakers and an amp to replace them, but I am hesistant because of a limited budget. Is this the right way to go? Also, I am thinking of replacing the front components and just replacing the rears with 2-way(cheaper) speakers. Is this a good idea? If anyone could give me some advice or reccomend certain brands or models to me, that would be greatly apreciated. Also, if anyone could relay to me the size of all the speakers so I know what to look for. Thanks for all the help.
