Audio questions on 2000 A6 Sedan (NO Bose)???
I just bought my first Audi. Every car I have ever owned, I have removed the factory components...installed aftermarket...carrying forward things I could when I bought my next car. Now comes the Audi. Let me say that I am VERY intimidated by its stereo system. Not by the quality...but, the complexity (and lack of resources out there). I searched around before creating this post, but couldn't find specific answers to my questions (everybody seems to own an A4 or a TT). Sorry if these are repeats:
1) Where is the factory (pitiful) amplifier located?
2) Where is the factory (also pitiful) subwoofer located?
3) What speakers fit well into the factory locations (front and back)?
I appreciate answers to any (and all if possible)!!! It would be cool if there was some online resource...somewhere (with pictures if possible)...links to old posts work as well.
Thanks!

My understanding is that the 'Symphony' H/U has the same pin-outs as the 'Concert'....
Use this diagram to connect your new H/U to these points on the wiring harness.

This is great, thanks!
However, I am trying to FIND the existing amp and subwoofer. I looked where people have told me it is (in the passenger-side access panel), but in there I see a jack and a black plastic box. To be honest, I haven't looked too closely. People say the amp is connected to the left rear deck speaker...however, the rear speakers in the A6 are in the doors...so...can't find that either... I guess I am going to just have to start looking VERY closely...

Are you guys telling me no one has upgraded an A6 (no Bose) sound?? :)
Or, have these types of questions I asked above been answered long ago???
I suppose I will need to go to a search and destroy mission on my A6 this weekend to get answers to my first two questions:
1) Where is the factory (pitiful) amplifier located?
2) Where is the factory (also pitiful) subwoofer located?
If (when) I discover the answers, will post my findings...
