B5 A4 new front speaker
Hello:
I replaced both front door speakers last fall because my passenger side one had failed with some aftermarket ones. Now the same location, right door, has failed again. Any recomendations on a decent speaker? I have the stock Symapthy system, do not crank the system, and don't know why the replacement one failed so soon.
Thanks for your time.

Do a search about the hidden EQ and
You'll find some reccommended settings. The stock front speakers are puny and can't handle much bass at all. What I did was turn the bass all the way down for the front speakers and the highs all the way down for the rear, creating a ghetto crossover that cuts off most the frequencies the drivers suck at delivering anyway and giving a better front soundstage. If you're going to stick with stock size speakers and don't care much about sound quality just replace with a decent aftermarket speaker and use the new EQ settings and you should be fine. Make sure the speakers are mounted securely because they may have been damaged if not.
