Hey all, i have a 99.5 A4 with the crap-matic (i mean non-Bose) stereo. I decided to have a system put in, and my budget is $2000, so not too much, not too little. I have a PPI A400 Art Series amp from my last system, which i was hoping to use for the fronts and rears.

My old truck had MB Quarts front and rear, an Esclipse head units, and that PPI amp, and a JL 10W1 sub. It was, i thought, a really nice system. What will be cool is ill probably put the Esclipse and the one set of MB quarts i saved into the Miata, so my old components will get a second life. That stuff has been sitting on a shelf for two years

So i guess my question is what are your thoughts. I know a requirement is a head unit that can play MP3's. I figure id like a sub box in the trunk that is fairly light and small, and removeable, i want to have the trunk when i need it. Im concerned wether a good shop will get a nice faceplate done for me. Im also wondering if i should go with a ported or sealed box, and finally, what sort of an amp should i get to power a future sub...i want to stick with JL subs, as i liked my old one. I sure don't want some monstrous 50lb sub box, but im sure a Basslink would not be enough.

As for music, i listen to everything, from Enya to Snoop....everything save country music.
