I am still, for now, using the factory amp for the rears... it uses common ground.
Can I join the r/l rear (-) low-voltage pre-amp output wires from my aftermarket head unit to run to the rear amp common (-)?
Otherwise, how can I use the rear amp with aftermarket head unit?

Don't flame for being pushy just one day in to a post... lol.
Trying to do this install and worried about the common ground system of the factory rear amp.
How have those of you who've connected to it done it?
1. Using speaker outs from head unit and using an adapter to convert to low-voltage common ground?
2. Just combining the l/r (-) outs from the low-voltage pre-amp?
If you say 2., then do you know if this will fry the head unit sooner or later?

You need to join the two (-) leads and run them to common like you said.

ALSO, don't forget, that white wire on the plug with the rear speakers is the amp trigger lead. Without power going to that when the deck is on, the amp will not turn on and y9ou will get no sound...
