After the dealer fitted a new Concert Radio under warranty the Bose Display does not appear at turn-on and the sound seems like the preamp equalization is all screwed up. It sounded fine before. Dealer doesn't know what to do except order another one (3 months last time!).

Does anyone know if the Radio Head Unit is the same for the Bose and Standard setups? Is their some form of activation code needed to enable the correct Bose preamp equalization?

This is in an April 99 A6 2.8Q with multi cd. The original radio had a scrambled display in cold weather and eventually the radio display in the dash died as well.

Turns out the dealer had wrongly entered the code as 00115 for a 1998 A6, when he re-entered it as 00117 for the 1999 that this is, then all returned to normal. Tool was programming box VAG 1552 and plugs in under the dash.
