Do I have to replace the bose spkrs on my 98 A4 in order to add a new 4ohm HU?

Do I have to replace the bose spkrs on my 98 A4 in order to add a new 4ohm HU? I went to auto audio places and they all said that I will have to take out all the bose speakers and put in aftermarket ones so that they work with my new HU. Then there was one audio guy that said i dont have to do that at all.

Can someone please help?

I went through all of this a few weeks ago...just go to a well known place and theyl know whats up. Like you, I got many conflicting opinions. It turns out that you dont need to change the speakers. Any good audio shop can convert the ohms. I ended up getting a Blaupunkt Miami Beach and it works fine. Good luck
