Default A few sub/amp install q's.....

okay i have a 97 non bose a4 with a aftermarket HU, pioneer 45x4. I am planning on installing 2 Bazooka 12" subs, bazooka EL 1500(RMS into 4 ohms x Channels 500 x 1) (2 ohms x Channels 750 x 1) and an mtx box. I am going to do the install myself. Now i read the article on installing a sub and amp and numerous articles and it didnt seem to hard. Does anyone have any experience with this kind of install? I was reading about radio codes...now since i have a aftermarket head unit do i have to deal with this? Any info would be greatly appreciated! Also i think i have blown one of my rear deck speaker, should i just disconnect it? i am going to upgrade in the near future....Oh also how should i set this up? Like at how many ohms etc? thank you very much for any info!

Default OK.... I'll try to assist you....

First off.... what you dont want to do is mix and match subwoofers in the rear as every sub will put out different frequencies depending on a number of items such as efficiency of the subwoofer.

I guess you made your questions much more difficult to decipher. So here goes:

Qkay i have a 97 non bose a4 with a aftermarket HU, pioneer 45x4. I am planning on installing 2 Bazooka 12" subs, bazooka EL 1500(RMS into 4 ohms x Channels 500 x 1) (2 ohms x Channels 750 x 1) and an mtx box.
A:So you no longer have the Bose radio, because it is replaced with the Pioneer head unit. So it doesnt matter what you have at this point. As for installing the 2 bazooka subs, hopefully it's placed in the MTX created subwoofer box if I am reading it correctly.

Q:Now i read the article on installing a sub and amp and numerous articles and it didnt seem to hard. Does anyone have any experience with this kind of install?
A:Plently of people like myself have already installed or attempted to install amplifiers and subwoofers to their vehicle. I would suggest calling up Crutchfield if you have never installed an amplifier or leave it up to the professionals as you may cause more harm than good. It is very easy to damage something on your vehicle if not done correctly and will cost you more in repairs than anything else.

Q:I was reading about radio codes...now since i have a aftermarket head unit do i have to deal with this?
A:No

Q:Also i think i have blown one of my rear deck speaker, should i just disconnect it?
A:If it is already blown there is no harm removing the whole thing as you will destroy the speakers anyhow if you install a subwoofer in your trunk, unless you plan on installing a baffle between the subwoofers and rear deck speakers as the sub frequencies will pass through and eventually damage the voice coil on the rear deck speakers.

Q:Oh also how should i set this up? Like at how many ohms etc?
A:Please refer to Crutchfield as previously explained or refer to a car audio specialist
