Default I have the 8-disc changer adapter; now ...

waiting for the changer to be shipped by the E-Bay b*stard I bought it from! He cashed my check but I haven't heard from him.

I did a little digging in the archives beforehand (you can, too!!!!!; Also check the "TECH" area for a person who installed a changer in a A4 Avant). Seems they work, but you don't have random tune access across CDs. Then again, you don't get it with factory CD changer either.

Default OK, changer in, wiring done ...

Now have to visit the hardware store and get some M4 screws about 1" long to try to mount the unit in the A4 changer housing.

In the meantime, I wired everything up. The 13 pin DIN connector fits rather loosely in the factory wire socket, but the connections seem to fit. I drilled a small hole in the sheet metal around the rear tail light to install the ground wire (just used a sheet metal screw).

Oh, yeah - I followed directions and disconnected the negative (ground) battery cable before starting. On reconnection, unit worked like a charm! And I thought I would have to repunch the anti-theft code plus all the radio station presets, but I didn't! Don't know why, but I'm not complaining.
