Default Ice link Help

I've hooked up my ice-link through the CDC connector in the trunk, it doesn't work. I've gotten several suggestions to check the ground wire. I'll do that as soon as someone can tell me where the ground wire is located. Thanks in advance

Default answer....

CDC ground wire is located behind the Sym I HU. Check the red 10 pin connector...I think (see link for background). See also my sig for reference pix etc...etc....

Also, the corresponding ground point on the round 13 pin connector in the trunk is the actual round metal casing in that connector. Just an FYI.

I would also try and get another unit from Dension...but I"m sure you've done that already.

good luck!<ul><li><a href="http://www.nav-plus.com/instructions/installb5.html">http://www.nav-plus.com/instructions/installb5.html</a</li></ul>

Default some background

there are 2 ways to wire an icelink into an audi, one is behind the head unit version one is trunk cdc connector. The behind the head unit version has its own ground wire, a very important part of the puzzle, the cdc trunk wire has it's own ground that 99% of the time is fine since you didnt put it there.

After you check the pins that teddy suggested, post back the exact problems and ill see what else i can suggest to try.

things i would do

1) update to newest firmware
2) use vag-com to make sure cdc present is set
3) call dension and switch out your unit or test it in someone else's car (make sure they send you new connectors too)
4) try behind the head unit version of the connector (it works better)

also you can reset your stereo's main power by pulling fuse 27 instead of disconnecting your car's battery like the dension installation instructions mention.

if you still need some help, send me an email, I'd be happy to help (by phone if neccesary).
