Jukebox CD Import, what is the source of metadata?

Jukebox CD Import, what is the source of metadata?
Greetings:
I have a 2014 A6 Premium Plus with the Bose system. It appears by inserting a CD and selecting "Import" the CD is ripped to the Jukebox hard drive. I have looked in the user's manual and scoured Google but cannot find an answer to two questions:
1) What is the source of the metadata? If it is a locally stored database is it possible to update?
2) What is the format and bit rate used for ripping?
My Cadillac CTS used a locally stored database of metadata that had to be updated by the dealer. Hopefully that is not the case with Audi.
