Default Motorola IHF1000 BT in an 2006 A3

First, with the help of Teddy (Obi-Wan of electronics), I'm definitely sold on the Motorola IHF1000 BT and will be placing an order for it in the next few days. I've looked at some threads and noticed that there are a lot of folks using Blackberry. I was wondering if anyone knew if it was compatible with the Treo 650. I checked the Motorola specs and it basically says that it's "compatible with MOST Bluetooth phones".

Does anyone use the Motorola IHF1000 BT with a Treo 650?

Oh, also...that little antenna looking schmengus on the top rear of the car...will that improve a cell signal with the Motorola IHF1000 BT installed?

Ahhh...your in luck....I install handsfree for a living!....The IHF 1000 is a great car kit....and yes it will work nicely with the tre650. The antenna on the car will not improve reception of your phone. If you had a V551...you could add the motorola hardwire cradle in and add the antenna for that.....there are also mini repeaters out there that you can add to inside of a vehicle with phones that dont use a hardwire cradle....we are testing them now to see how well they work...check back with me in a month and ill let you know. If you want total system integration...the Parrot ck3100 is a great choice. I have installed them in a few A4's including my own, and I have done 1 A3 and it sounded great!

Default I DISAGREE that the Treo 650 will work nicely with the IHF1000

I have an IHF1000 (my company sells them at a discount by the way) installed in my allroad and I could not get the Treo 650 to stay connected or reconnect over time. Last I checked Palm does not recognize the IHF 1000 as compatible either.

The CK3100 will work with the palm. But I ditched my Treo650 for a phone that would work with the IHF1000 - that kit is that good.<ul><li><a href="http://kb.palmone.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE?New,Kb=PalmSupportKB,ts=Palm_External20 01,Case=obj(39923)">Palm compatiblility list</a></li></ul>

Default Did you get your kit done?

BTW it's interesting that the RNS-E has adjustable volume for the phone input - nice touch.

Default working on it..as we speak. The Nav+/RNS-D has adjustable vol for telephone..

but I'm not positive with the RNS-E. I'll have to consult my manual again.

You may have an issue with your phone. Make sure you have the correct software version. I personally have done the treo 650 with the IHF1000....and so far no issues. It also depends on what options/software you have installed in the phone. There have been issues with certain software applications.

Default My experience is with GSM units....

Clean phone no other apps. SW versions to current and beyond (beta) and not consistant. You can pair the 650 just fine. It's just that its slow, won't reconnect, losing connections during calls and generally doesn't work as expected. Your Treo would be an exception not the rule in this case. Palm has not updated the BT stack on the GSM unit in quite sometime. I have tested several 650s over several IHF1000's.

the only issues that I have come accross is the voice activation.....as far as pairing...i havent had any issues.....The ck3100 would be the best choice for the Treo.

Agreed a Parrot would be the best choice for the Treo (at least until the Treo BT stack is upgraded)
