No Waze App sound on iPhone X?

No Waze App sound on iPhone X?
Trying to isolate this issue with the wife's Q3 & her new iPhone X to see if it's an iPhone, Audi or Waze issue.
1) When using MMI Sirius radio & the Waze app via BT - no Waze sound comes out of the speakers.
2) When using MMI Media option & Waze app via BT - Waze sound comes out as expected.
This did not occur with the prior iPhone nor iOS.
Thoughts?
