Default paying retail

Got a price for speakers and alpine 5 ch for a 5 series. Amp is in at full retail. Is this the pain you have to pay to have a good install? Its the MRD-F752 with the T class bass channel. $900 and its much lower eveywhere on the internet. I asked him for the model number on the speakers and he goes MBQ 2.25, well there arent any quarts in that model number, are they older series? Im thinking of having that amp, quart separates up fromt, 5.25 coax on rear deck, xtant sub in xtant fiberglass (small) enclosure in trunk using stock radio & changer for anti-theft stealth. Any ideas? I know I should change the head & changer, but price on installed above is 2K.

Default What I'm doing - 50/50 Retails vs. Web

Purchased a PPI amp over the internet - about 50% savings over retail. I'm keeping my stock HU (it's not that bad, and it looks 10x better than any aftermarket that I've seen). I'm going to purchase speakers retail and have it all installed together. I haven't gotten any grief from prospective installers when I tell them I have an amp - but of course they warn me about warranty issues, etc.
