Default Phatnoise question.

Have a new phatnoise installed in my 2003 Rs6.

One question I have though...

Is the bass output from it really weak? Playing from CD is fine ( haven't recorded a MP3 track on CD to check.)

Most tracks recorded with music match 8.1 VBR with volume leveling set.

Default I don't have that problem.

My Phatbox sounds very close to the same as CD.

I typically use either MP3 encoding at 192-256 CBR or Ogg Vorbis encoding at a reasonably high quality setting. Quite a bit of my music is encoded outside of PMM, using other applications.

I have lots of music encoded from fairly old CDs, which sound pretty weak anyway. I like to edit those music files in Adobe Audition (was CoolEdit - what a great program), and the resulting files usually sound better played in my Phatbox than the original CD.

Default Re encoding wth VBR 90% in music match.

Sounds better in the phat box than 160 CBR
