Default Satellite Tuner Install for 2005 S4-Help!

I just bought a 2005 S4 recently (wow what a difference from my 2006 WRX!), and want to install a sirius satellite tuner.

Can anyone give me any information on the installation procedures? The car has the factory stereo. It has an in-dash 6-disc changer and has a satellite button. I've read the tuner is supposed to go in the trunk, in a box-out on the drivers side. Well my car has the box out, but there aren't any wires or anything. It's just an empty box with no openings! There is a rectangular plastic piece but it doesn't come out. On the inside of the trunk flap there is a XM sticker.

Do I need a special key or something to remove the plastic piece?

Can anyone give me any help? Thanks!

Thanks Reggie!

It's similar, but my rectangular panel "bracket" is a bit smaller. I tried to pry it open with a screwdiver but it seemed like I was going to break it. I did get it to loosen enough to get my finger beneath it, but it still won't come off. Again, I'm worried about pulling to hard and breaking it.

Default and here is another one

BTW - XM has much better playlist - IMHO. Also has Bob Brinker and Leo Laporte

I could not take Sirius for more than a month before I converted.<ul><li><a href="https://www.audiworld.com/tech/elec.html">Link</a></li></ul>

Yes that helps. I can see that I need to pull from the sides and closer to the bottom. Before your input I wasn't even sure if the panel was removable.

Thanks again Reggie!

At this point just wanted to verify what was behind there. In the next few weeks hopefully I'll pick up a Sirius Tuner from Clairparts or something and hopefully it's an easy install!

Maybe it's just what you're used to...I've had Sirius for a few years and am more comfortable with it. 90's Alt. rock channel, howard stern, etc.

Will they merge already so it doesn't matter??

Default Merger will not happen

and they will only carry ten channels of each other (they are severely bandwidth limited - especially Sirius which has performance issue anyway)

The merger/buyout was only proposed by Sirius to keep from going bankrupt. Their business model was to spend and spend to get subscribers - Howard, and buying car companies like Audi to get exclusive contracts (probably a BJ as also offered to Audi excs. too)

XM is in much better shape financially and can survive - Sirius will survive when someone buys them for pennies on the dollar.<ul><li><a href="http://blogs.barrons.com/techtraderdaily/2008/03/05/xm-sirius-deal-now-appears-less-likely-analyst-says/?mod=googlenews_barrons">Story</a></li></ul>
