Hi Guys,

I just picked up my new B7 with Nav and NO Bose. I'm planning on getting an aftermarket amp and new compenents while keeping the stock rsn unit. I've read that 5 1/4s and many 6 1/2s will fit. Of the elite 6.5s components (Focal, Dynaudio, MB Quart Premium, Q Series, Diamond Audio etc) Which of their 6.5s components will fit?

Also should I get a matching set of components for rear door to use as fill? Or should I mount them as a coax in the case of the MB Quart Premium Series or just not put in rears at all.

I also forgot to mention that I have a JL 10W7 from my old car that I would install with these.

...but because you have non-Bose, your best bet is to "hog out" the OEM speaker and useits frame as a spacer...

Thanks for the advice I took a look at your website and saw that you had Thiels at home. I have had a pair of 2.3's for a long time and soon will be looking at a pair of 2.4's.

I have the upmost respect for your recommedation so what would you recommend putting in my car? I know you are a big fan of DLS speakers, would the UP6 fit in my car? or would I have to get the UP5. Also I have read several threads about hooking up an amp to the rsn head. I would just need that little adaptor that plugs into the back of the hu and then run rcas to my amp right?

As for amps I was thinking of the Audison LRx Vr 2.150. Any idea where I could put this amp in my B7? Would it fit under one of the seats?

...the LRx has all been upgraded now.

No need for the 5's.

The new LRx are all fan cooled, so in a sedan I'd go under the R deck.
