Speaker questions - '96 A4...
I have a set of 6 1/2" MB Quarts that I would like to replace my stock rear speakers with.
1) The rear deck speakers are 6 1/2", right?
2) Will my MB's drop right in without any tweaking?
3) How do I install them? Do I remove the rear grilles, and if so, HOW? Or do they install from underneath.
I just bought this car a couple of weeks ago, and would appreciate any help you could give me.

(1&2) The rears are 6 but they have a square footprint. You can buy some adapters that MBQ makes to allow you to attach your new sepakers. Typically they run about $50-60 with (apparent) limited availability (Translation: you may have to wait for your order).
(3) Once you have the adapters, you are all set. The cover for the rear deck comes off. First you disconnect the rear brake light from underneath probably easiest while laying in the trunk.. Then there are some of those nylon snap clips holding the cover down in the front. Pull up on the rear seat side edge and you will hear the clips pop out. After it's free of the clips, you can slide the deck cover toward the cabin, and you hav access to the speakers. There is a more detailed description in the FAQ section about removing the rear deck if any of this is unclear.
I hope this helps.
