Time for a new radar detector. Uniden R3 looks like the one!
It's time to replace my age old passport 8500. I've studied posts on this forum & various comparisons.
Since I live in a relatively urban area, the GPS, etc features over the R1 seem like they are worth the $100 over the R1.
If I lived more rurally &/or just did interstate driving, I'd go V1 or R1, for pure range. But, since my driving is quite mixed, it looks like an R3 is for me. Small & powerful.

I've realized that I want a bluetooth capable detector, so that it'll be more useful on my motorcycle, connecting to the communication system on it.
So, now, I'm researching reasonably priced Escort units. This doesn't seem as promising to me.... :-(
