Default What do I need to convert an aux-in signal to match the stock cd-in signal?

I tapped into the cd-in signal at my gamma head unit and installed an aux-in jack for mp3s. I did the same on my old C4 and it works well, but the sound quality isn't close to the same as the cd.

The cd-in reads 20k ohms and the aux-in reads 3.3k ohms. Do I need some sort of in-line amplifier?
