Default Where to get long CD changer/PB cable (4B0-051-735-B)?

I'm thinking about getting a PhatBox, and plan to install it in the trunk. ClairParts has this cable for $104, so all of a sudden that $165 system doesn't seem like a deal. Any other place where I can get it for less?

Default yup...however..

you will need to move some pins around if you want to retain that blue 8 pin connector.

It might be easier to buy the green and yellow versions that would lock into that connector.
see my sig for the 84 detailed nav+ photos for reference.

I have a wire extraction tool that can make the movement of pins very fast. You can try the sewing needle method...but expect it to take 2+ hours...and you might damage the pins.

I would go ahead and buy that cable on ebay.

Drop me an email when everything comes in.

Default oh ok...so what wires will connect into these other connectors?

i'm not sure if i follow the steps. If i buy that connector with the blue end, which goes to the PhatBox, what do the yellow and green go into? If there isn't anything connected to the head unit right now, why can't I plug in only the blue plug?

Default either way...you'll need to relocate the female pins

<center><img src="http://www.vwnavi.com/vwnavi/photos/albums/userpics/Slide2f.JPG"></center><p>again, see my sig for my 84 detailed pix for my Nav+.

What you have now...is:
- one black 20 pin connector behind your current radio.

That same black connector can be divided up into 3 smaller connectors (green, blue and yellow).

To do that you need:
- to buy the green and yellow female connectors (no need to buy pins/wires...just the connectors)
- relocate female pins from blue CDC cable to your existing black 20 pin connector or.....
relocate female pins from existing black 20 pin connector to green and yellow version and connect all three.

Either way...my tools will help out.

Default I've written this so many times I'm starting to get bored of it myself, but...

If you buy the VW beetle head to trunk cable for $90 on ebay from VW of West Hartford, you won't need the Audi cable for the P-box and you can just buy the cable (90) and the p-box (125).
