Default XM Commander, Good install spot? (b5 S4)

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/58354/xm_radio.jpg"></center><p>
Hey all,

I have had my XM commander behind the shifter for some time but I dont like it there, I would prefer in built into the ashtray area but still be able to see the display.
Has anyone done this?
I dont like the the under the vent spot either.

Thanks!!!

Default I had the same problem

But I have an aftermarket cd player, so I just made myself a dash kit that fit the XM commander in it.

I found it hard to see in my ash tray, have you thought about mounting it right above the hazard button and under the vents, Audijon did that in his s4 and it looks good.

let us know what conclusion you come to, Id very much like to know.

On our '01 A6 we had it mounted between the ESP buttons and the vents. Perfect location for it, except that the light needs turned off or dimmed, is a bit odd, blue light when everything else is red.

Default Marc, how do you plan to integrate your XM with the Nav+? Just curious.

I know quite a bit about the various input options for the Nav+.

Drop me a line if you need anything...see my sig pix etc.

Default All I need is an RCA input for the XM if the NAV+ has that, if not I will keep it through the -

changer cable and use a switch of some type.

Default that's what I thought...check the VWnavi.com site...they have a specific.

audio input device that plugs into the back of unit into the special A/V plug....although it seems like a shame to use it for audio only.

Contact Jeff Bipes on this site...as he probably has a way to do it via the trunk CD changer cable...and allow you to keep your CD changer.

cool. Good luck!
