Anybody know why there is currently no BP Ultimate in VIC. I tried 4 servos today and they are all out.

and they havent been able to produce any for several weeks now.

They are saying before Xmas they should have it back in the pumps.

Switch to the new Shell Extreme 100 Octane - its better anyway.

Not to sure about the shell extreme. Heard it has a higher percentage of ethanol, and as such isnt as economical as the 98 octane petrol..

plus generally ethonal makes car run leaner, so ecu compensate by injector more, hence worse milage.

But i remember the original claims when optimax was first released, "It is more dense"

so with the new stuff they are doing a about face.

Hmm I say put back Tolulene in fuel...

interesting - now i think of it i filled up with it for the 1st time and noticed my long term fuel trim is getting leaner... will have adjust my FPR a couple of notches.

The production facility in WA broke down more than a month ago. Production is back on but it's taking a long while for it to filter out as the shortage is Australia wide. Although last Friday, a BP station near Leongatha had 800 lt left. When I came back 2 days later, they were out again.

I switched to Optimax Extreme 100 anyway, car seems to run smoother...

So is it worth using? Higher fuel consumption, but will the car run better if already GIACed??
