Default 1Z Glanz Wax Questions...

I applied it to my black S4, and so far I really, really like it. Until now the two products that I used for LSP have been...

Summer - One Grand Blitz
Winter - Zaino

The Zaino system just takes too long. I would like to consolidate to one system, and so far I think I might have a winner with 1Z, but it's only been on for about 3 weeks.

Questions:

1) How long to you let Glanz Wax sit/haze till you try to remove. I waited about 15 - 20 mins and removed but it was tough.

2) Machine (PC with black pad) or by hand? I'm thinking that the machine would allow me to spread thinner as by hand I might over apply.

3) The inital application on black looked nice and dark. Does it remain that way?

Phil, really liking the Adams car wash (going to have to get a gallon) and 1Z.

Default Phil prescribed Glanz for my BB A4, and I love the wax.....

I apply it by hand and I don't let it sit for too long. I don't think you need to apply Glanz with a PC, you could but it is not necessary.

In between waxes I just used the Adams detail spray after the wash and the car looks great. They say the glanz can last about 3 months, I hope it does.

Default Why do you say Zaino takes too long? Additionally...

You are "Blitzing" in the summer, a topical wax, and "Z'ing" for the winter...a polymer. Why not stay with Zaino? SO many questions, so little time.

Default Some answers...

This is my experience after using Zaino and Blitz for the last 7 years.

Blitz in the summer because the Carnuba is really kind to a dark blue ('00 S4), and now my black car ('04 S4). Blitz is also very easy to apply and wipe off. Great shine and lasts about 6-8 weeks.

Zaino gives black a bit of a dark grey, not black in the sun, outcome. Even to get to that point you have to wash, ZAIO, Z6, Z5, Z6, Z2, Z6, and perhaps another Z2. That's alot of work, alot. Add to that, if you live in the NE, the number of days that it is dry enough to do it and not smear are soooo few and far between. Even if you use ZFX smearing can and will still occur unless it's very dry out. It's really the smearing that kills Zaino for me. If I had a light color car, my opinion might be different. I don't. Add to this the cost and crappy volume purchase options.

Z10 is still hands down the best leather treatment in my book. The smell is awsome!

Zaino is just too much of a PITA for me to invest that kind of time in, with those shiny, long lasting, mediocre color results.

1Z is just as shiny, glossy, and rich dark color results. So far afer 3-4 weeks, holding up nicely. The process was wash, clay, 106, 1Z.

Default 1Z Glanz works well....some info on application and removal

the old glanz, just an opaque liquid would dry to a haze...the directions would have you apply it to the entire car, then start to buff when you were finished, from where you started.

the new glanz, has a pinkish color says to apply and let dry to a haze, then buff off. i didn't let it sit long. i used my PC with a meg's white pad and buffed it off (made life easy).

use a good QD after you are done. 1Z Lackfinish works great to remove anything you missed and to clean things up.

glanz lasts a long time...easily through the winter.

Default I agree with you, mostly. I had a santorin '00 S4 and the Z..

did not have depth so I Blitzed it to 'pull' out the depth.
Currently I have the silver b6 and put 15 applications of Z polish...then maybe 6 coats of P21S for the 'sheeting' effect. Looks great. But now Z has the 'CS' which can be applied over ANYTHING...and NO BUFFING. I'm using it and I think this is best of both worlds...still have the gloss of the P21S and now the depth of protection of a polymer. WHat I think we have here is the best of the two worlds.
I did not see th 'CS' on your list. Maybe you could check it out. The stuff works!

Default 1Z is my new fav!

It goes on real easy, comes off real easy, hides some imperfections, has a deep gloss, good shine, medium warm glow.

Seams to last a while, I put it on my S4 over a month ago, it has been sitting out side & it's been raining a lot. The top still beads, the sides still beads, & from 30ft it looks great!

I also used it on my "other" car, & LOVED the outcome, it's carnuba like with out the hassle, & last!

I use my PC with a Red LC pad, speed 2, work slow, & even, use little product, do the whole car, then wipe off.

Default Yeah, I have ZCS... but polymer alone will not get me depth on black.

Side note, I too had a Santorin Blue '00 S4 with white leather interrior... awsome combo...

Issue is that you'll need allot of Z5 to get depth on a Santorin or Black. 2-3 coats for the same depth that I'll get with one 1Z Glanz. I have not used the ZCS, but I will on the silver Murano in the driveway 24/7. If it's that good, I might apply over 1Z Glanz for that extra longevity.

Default See, I want to apply to whole car then remove but I did whole side +10-15 mins and...

it was tough to get off, even after clay and 106 to prep. Probably on too thick, but I cannot imagine that as I made an effort not to, and applied by hand.
