Default Any idea how much this scratch will cost to fix?

Hi all,

New Q8 last month, and unfortunately I've received my first scratch It was hit by a NYC passenger bike trolley and I'm wondering how much it will cost and whether it's worth going through insurance.
Appreciate any feedback.

If that happened to my car I would simply use a good mobile bumper repair guy. Luckily for you it is on the bumper and not a metal panel (like a door). I have used a mobile guy before for the front bumper of my wife's Cayenne, it came out excellent and even matched very close to factory as far as paint meter (clearcoat depth) readings. I'd estimate that job in the $400 range, it doesn't look bad at all. Best way to find one is type "mobile bumper repair" in your local yelp or Craigslist. Don't bother with a bodyshop (which would quote $2k and unnecessarily replace the bumper) or insurance, you lucked out.

Default fixed

Thanks for the reply. A buddy ended up connecting me a body shop that does work for a nearby audi dealership and they fixed it all up for $641 total. Pretty pleased with the results and the price, and wanted to share this data point for others.
(I didn't realize until I got to the body shop that the bumper was slightly misaligned from the impact, so they also took care of that)

Glad it all worked out and that seems like a fair price, probably the best approach given the bumper was slightly misaligned. Glad you're back on the road !
