argh, scuff on the bumper cover
It looks like someone rubbed against my car while the rear bumper cover was dirty/gritty, and it's left a scuff. The surface feels a bit rough, but it doesn't appear to be a deep scratch.. what would be the best route to take (without repainting the bumper cover) to get out the scuff?
thanks,

Well...
If it really isn't a bad scuff, I'd first try my current favorite cure-all, One Grand Special Touch. It's a nonabrasive cleaner/polish, and works well on reducing/eliminating minor scratches. Very mild. The trick, as with all chemical polishes, is to not just wipe it on and wipe it off. You have to work it on the paint for a while...because it takes time to do its thing. I usually will rub for about 30-45 seconds, first with the scratch and then perpendicular to it, then wipe it off and see how things look. Then repeat if necessary. Special Touch is great for minor scratches, stubborn water marks, bird crap etching, all kinds of paint problems. If you want to try something available locally, try 3M Swirl Mark Remover. Also very mild. If these don't work, then you need something more aggressive. If they do work, follow with glaze, then wax. Good luck.
