Audi rubber matts, brand new b4 first use. Wash with dish det. or Adams car wash?
These things stink like brand new rubber. What would be better, dish detergent or Adams car wash?
I washed a previous set (back in 2002) with dish detergent and I think it worked well but can't recall.
Thanks

Thanks, was reading description of Griots rubber cleaner, question
It says that it stips down the rubber so that you can add stuff over it to bring back the rubber condition.
I don't need to strip down the brand new rubber mats because I don't want to apply anything.
Is the Griots rubber cleaner still a good option, or should I just use a very small amount of Adams car wash?
Thanks

it doesn't "strip" rubber. It's a specific cleaner.
THe only way you would strip rubber is by drying it out and rubbing it or using a solvent.
Anytime you clean rubber, you want to dress it or protect it to prevent it from drying out. 303 Aerospace has a rubber protectant that you can use after you clean it to prevent it from drying.
