Diamondite and Rain-X - yes or no?
After applying the 3-step Diamondite process should it be necessary to apply Rain-X?
Even if it's not required, is there anything wrong with mixing the two products?
It'll be awfully hard to break the habit of applying Rain-X...

Two very different products- ->
Can't comment on compatability, but the Diamondite is a glass cleaning and prep kit for glass damaged by road debris etc. Rain-X is a surface prep solely for sheeting action.

should be ok
just let rain x cure (i.e. do not buff off immediately) for like 10 or 20 minutes.
btw rain x is really a great product, my windows is still bead rain like hell, even after 4 months of winter (just 1 application last november), no kidding.

Re: right....except the Diamondite third step says...
that it leaves a "protective" layer on the windshield....I thought it might replace the need for Rain-X - or that Rain-X might ruin/smear the Diamondite.
Rain-X is a great product, but it's some NASTY stuff.
The only problem with Rain-X is that it works exponentially better the faster you drive....which, naturally, only encourages me to drive faster...and considering all the rain-retards we have in this area (northern VA), that may not be such a good thing. Noticeably, rain-retards weren't *such* a problem when I lived in Oregon.

I would say no.
Rain-X eats your wiper blades.
I use the Diamondite system along with regular cleanings via Stoners Invisible Glass. My windshield sheets water away just as well as a standalone application of Rain-X. The clay part of the Diamondite system is especially nice.

Re: I noticed the same thing....
The longer you use the same blades with the Rain-X, you either need to replace the blades, or you need more applications of Rain-X.
Funny how that works...
