the funk is back in the car and it came back when it rained
wtf?
Had the car prof. detailed the hot vacuum and wet-vac and the funk went away. It rained and now the funk is back....what the hell do I need to do to get the funk out of my woman's car?
Car is 99 Jetta.
I have tried Blue Magic Spray, Meg, Armor All, and the like.
I guess I will need to go raid the local Kragen and try the other stuff.
I am using a Wet/dry vac 4hp and I guess it isn't enough!!!

you need to
dehumidify it after you cleaned it, I actually sun-tan my carpets and put a dehumidifier inside the car just to get it dry... from your discussion, it seemed that the wet-vac/steam-vac thing is the culpit.

Try Griot's Stinky-Be-Gone bag.

You can also get that stuff from other catalogs
and at places like Bed Bath and Beyond.
FWIW, I've had one for a coupla years near my cat's litter box and I haven't noticed it does much. I think it requires a smallish, totally closed environment that is not opened for a while.

Sounds to me like you have a leak in the car...
Could be a clogged sunroof drain, clog AC drain line, or a leak coming through the firewall into the cabin. Find the leak, deal with it, then figure out where your mold and mildew has settled, clean that up (might require some nasty disinfectants to treat it), and hopefully the smell won't return after that.
